Reprinted for Rafu readers is a tribute to Angus Macbeth written on the occasion of his memorial service in Washington on March 6, 2017. Japanese Americans were fortunate to have him fighting on their side. Larger than life, Angus, a native of Los Angeles, was extraordinarily intelligent — a summa at Yale and a summa again at Yale Law School. He was also one of the founders of the Natural Resources Defense Council and so of the modern environmental movement.
